4 TOOLS TO ADD TO YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

These help absorb water as it trickles down your arms when washing your face. They prevent your clothes getting wet.

Silicone brushes are soft thus less abrasive than other physical body exfoliation tools. The bristles are impenetrable so they are resistant to the accumulation of bacteria on your body brush, this makes them about 35 times more hygienic than conventional loofahs.

ICE ROLLER

These come in handy in summer when it is boiling hot and you don't want the messiness of ice blocks melting down your face. But the more official benefits of ice rollers are that the cold temperature stimulates the lymphatic system to reduce puffiness. It also stimulates blood flow and reduces muscle tension to which I can attest because I often use it around my temples and forehead when I feel an anxiety headache coming on.

GUA SHA STONE

Facial massages are so good for releasing muscle tension in our faces, we already have enough worries without adding locked jaws and throbbing temples to the mix. A gua sha stone is extra handy when you don't feel like doing the manual labour. Gua sha is a traditional chinese practise in which a tool is used to scrape skin to release pain. In skincare it is popular for its sculpting effect. As well as its brightening effect as it promotes lymphatic drainage and boosts blood flow. Remember to moisturise and use a non-comedogenic face oil to ensure a smooth glide without dragging your skin. Also place the tool at a 45 degree angle when scraping to avoid using the sharp edge.
