MY MONEY, MY DEFENDER

Money is power and power is freedom. Building financial security is not only about consolidating your power but also ensuring the utilise that power for your benefit, to ensure your safety and well-being.

  1. CASH BUFFER

The world is moving towards total cashless transactions but we are not totally there yet so keeping a R200 bill in your purse at all times is beneficial. We regularly experience load shedding (grateful there's been improvement) and as a result point of sale systems might be down or the card machine might be having some technical issue, having some physical cash would come in handy in such situations.

  2. MY ZERO FUND

Define your zero, the minimum balance your everyday account can reach before you have to pause on that taping action. This minimum should aim to cover minor inconveniences, unexpected urgent but small expenses.

  3. EMERGENCY FUND

If you run through the first two lines of defence then it's time to dip into the emergency fund.

  4. F U MONEY

Love f u money, don't have any currently

  5. RETIREMENT SAVINGS

Worst of worst case scenario, you're almost homeless worst case (and somehow can't get yourself home even with your tail between your legs and dying of embarrassment)
