Summer is coming upon us fast and I don't know about you but I want healthy, fresh and glowing skin from head to toe. Here are few products to add to your skin care routine to help you achieve that:
We all have heard about salicylic acid and wonderful benefits. More importantly we have experienced these benefits through the products we use on our faces so why not add it to the products we use on our bodies. This body wash from Standard Beauty contains 2% salicylic acid that will help tackle body acne, cleanse pores and calm inflammation, without breaking the bank or drying out your skin.
Olive oil contains antioxidants such as vitamin E that protect against free radicals, unstable atoms that can damage skin cells thus leading to aging. It also contains fatty acids that, as previously mentioned, reduce moisture loss, help maintain a healthy skin barrier thus resisting the entry of harmful substances through the skin.
Applying olive oil (before your lotion) straight after your nightly shower, while your skin is still damp can aid in sealing moisture and preventing skin irritation after a day outside. There is the added benefit of the healthy shine it gives your skin. Note: Only at night because sunburns are not cute and do not benefit your skin in any way.
BODY SPRITZER
Although fragrance does not have any benefits to the appearance of one's skin, it is a good practise to include a few spitzes of something nice while getting ready in the morning or night. Especially layering while your skin is still slightly damp and soaked in lotion, it will make your fragrance last long. Do not be afraid to apply fragrance at night well, as long as it does not irritate your skin or disturb your sleep by overwhelming your senses, it is an amazing way to add a feeling of luxury to the uneventful task of taking your nightly shower.
Epsom salt helps soften dry, rough or irritated skin. It is also beneficial in relieving sore muscles and general stresses of life while you soak your worries away for a couple of minutes. It is best to soak once a week, and choose your least busy day as you do not want to feel rushed, for an average of 15 minutes. Epsom salt is also a great physical exfoliant that helps cleanse pores and remove dead skin cells. To use as an exfoliant, mix some with water in the palm of your hand and massage into your skin in circular motions.
