Food Ingredients Every Home Cook Should Have for Easy and Convenient Food Preparation

Sometimes it feels like if we're not eating or thinking about what we're going to eat, we're pondering whether we have all the groceries to make what we want and the endless conveyor belt of dirty dishes - let's not even talk about that nightmare. But to keep ourselves sane, it's beneficial to keep a well-stocked, preferably inexpensive pantry for easy and delicious meals so we don't get ourselves in a tizzy come supper time.


FLOUR

We would die of starvation without flour, which is kind of disgusting but that's a blog for another day. Homemade is an easy go-to.

FROZEN VEGETABLE

As much as they are the best sometimes you just don't have the time or energy to peel and chop fresh vegetables. So to not skimp on a balanced meal frozen is the best alternative. Use them to cook soup. Roast with some herbs. Add to a chicken stir fry.

The king of starch, sweet potato is the queen. The meals you can create with potatoes are endless, then add flour...you will never starve, you might be bloated but you not be hungry. Slap chips. Roast potatoes. Potato mash.

All the spices, literally. Herbs. Rubs. Any and every spice you can get your hands. Creating food is an experiment in creativity, especially if you are cooking for just yourself. Adding a spice that does not usually go with whatever cuisine you may be dabbling in is adding your own touch.

But must-have spices that you should not exist without are ginger, garlic, thyme, basil, coriander, turmeric.
