SOME VINTAGE JUICE

Old Hollywood movies to watch, with possibly confusing not so helpful reviews. You can find them all on YouTube.

GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES

Such a great movie, and not just because of Marilyn Monroe and her bewitching looks. "Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty, but my goodness, doesn't it help?"; I am sure you've heard this famous line in some Tik Tok or YouTube Short...well, it's from this movie and it's true.

PYGMALION

This movie shoes the superficiality of people. But it is fun.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

Great suspense, thriller movie without being scary. A group of individuals who are connected although it isn't obvious at first, are at invited to an island and killed off by someone who is eventually revealed. I couldn't guess who the murderer was but once they are a revealed it kind of seems 'obvious' because there were clues.

SABRINA

Audrey Hepburn is the middle class daughter of a chauffeur infatuated with youngest son of the family her father drives for. She actually falls in love with the older son which is just as well because he is more responsible and stable, who wants a play boy for a husband.

CHARADE

PENNY SERENADE

Sad and heart warming.

THE BRIDS AND THE BEES

This actually confused me. I mean it's funny but I don't get how he can't tell it's her (the woman he met on the boat). His wink at the end kind of signals that he knew all along but they don't clarify whether she actually loves him or wants him for his family money.

THE LAST TIME I SAW PARIS

So dramatic, and a sad ending.

LIFE WITH FATHER

I also wish I was a stay at home wife with multiple maids, but with the four kids and manic husband.

MADE FOR EACH OTHER

In this movie, love conquers all even male ego.

Did you know? That Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton are actually remakes of 1950/1951 movies, Father of the Bride and Father's Little Dividend. You should watch all four, they are so much fun.
