IDEAS FOR EASY NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS
WRITE A PERSONAL BILL OF RIGHTS
This is like the constitutional bill of rights but for yourself. You just write the right or also include its corresponding responsibility to add an element of accountability and encourage reciprocity so how you treat other people matches how you want to be treated. For example in my personal bill of rights I have included rights such as:
I have the right to trust my intuition
I have the right to experience and express all of my emotions
COMMIT TO JOURNALING AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH
You can use journal prompts if you are unfamiliar with journaling and don't what to write or how to start.
You can do a beginning of the month review where you answer the following questions:
Highlight of last month?
This month I want to feel?
I will be over the moon if?
Ways I will nourish myself this month?
Alternatively, you can keep a gratitude journal where you list what you are thankful for the preceding month.
CREATE ONE ARTISTIC THING
This be literally anything, art like everything else in life is so relative meaning you can draw a single incomplete stick figure on an A4 and that can be your artistic thing. People tend to want everything to be meaningful and purpose driven...okay fine, this also is purpose drive but the intention here is to create a meaningless thing to express your creativity for no other reason than just expression, it won't enrich you or develop you or expand your skillset but it will be fun and a fun memory. The suggestion is for one thing to remove any pressure you might put on your self, this is just for fun.

TRY A NEW CHEESE
Camembert. Blue Cheese. Brie. Goat Cheese. Gruyere. Gorgonzola. The list goes on, I reckon there are at least a million different types of cheeses in the world and a fair amount of them are available in South African grocery stores like Checkers and Woolworths. So you really have no excuse going through life just eating cheddar or gouda.
TAKE YOURSELF ON A SOLO PICNIC
Firstly, make sure it is in relatively safe, well maintained and non-isolated park. Second, make the food at home; this is not picnic for Marie Antoinette so although you are a queen the food does not have to be gourmet. Cut up some watermelon, pack some apples and water. Bring a wide brim hat, a blanket, a cardigan and sunscreen. Carry a book and sheet mask (yes, masking at the park is thing) or listen to music from your phone. If you do it right you should be hooked the first time and it should develop into an untreatable addiction.
Cheers to harmless fun
